background
During this lab, our assignment was to create an experiment to analyze the gait of a test subject. We had to come up with all the parameters, and design the experiment. I worked with Parker, and we tested amount of steps, length walked, height, length of legs, and weight. Below you can find a file with our data that we found and graphs that represent it. The ultimate goal was to be able to put all of the group data together in one database, which you will also see a link to below. In addition, we had to interpret the data in order to see how we could predict people's height based on their gate (see file below). After inputting all the information into the class database, we were able to make a prediction based on calculations we made from the data we gathered. We took the amount of centimeters I walked (609.6) and divided it by 15 steps, and got a stride of 40.64 centimeters. Then, I multiplied the average woman's step to height ratio (4.13), which is data I researched about and found online, by my stride length and got my height. This was my prediction model and I believe that with the same information from other groups, I could also predict height.

A challenge that I encountered while looking at the class data was that everyone recorded different data, and not everyone used the same parameters while conducting the experiment. People also used different units, such as inches and centimeters, which made it difficult because I had to do conversions in order to make my prediction model. Everyone in the group was able to make decisions and contribute to the discussions equally. Our team did collaborate with other groups by sharing our data and asking how other groups conducted their experiments in order to get a better understanding of what the task was and how to better do it. It was very important to have the right data in order to be able to make accurate graphs and representations of what we discovered during the project. In the future, I would set it up so everyone had to get the same data and directions on how they would do so. No, once I knew what to do, I did not have a problem with working with google sheets.
